Choose Biliran

BILIRAN is an Island Province in the Philippines located in Eastern Visayas  (Region VIII). It is one of the country's smallest and newest provinces. Formerly it is a sub-province of Leyte, it became an independent province in 1992. Biliran was known before as Isla de Panamao and the dictionary also gives Biliran its alternative name bilir, which was defined in an old Visayan dictionary as ‘’corner or edge of  boat vase or anything protruding  like veins, or the furrow made by the plow.” Recorded population as of 2010 was 48,799 which made it the fifth least populous province in the country, and the smallest in the region. The inhabitants of Biliran primarily speak Cebuano, Waray and Tagalog languages.

This Island is a beautiful tropical paradise with high volcanic mountains and beaches in nearly every bay along its shoreline. It is truly unspoilt paradise, and has become a great tourist spot. It was known for its sweet and clear water, and visited for its rich resources. If you’re up for a nature trip, you’ll never go wrong with Biliran:  waterfalls, white beaches and islands that everyone can enjoy. This hidden paradise will take you to a different world where you can relax. Massive choices of adventure you can experience. Some of the tourists usually hike on mountains to see very unique waterfalls and land off to hot springs. Falls have been one of the tourist attractions here in Biliran.

There are thirty (30) recorded falls in entire province. Tourists also enjoyed island hopping where they could experience extreme adventure such as exploring caves and diving. Biliran has good selection of hotels, resorts and lodges to choose from. Rates are also reasonable. You don’t need to spend a lot of money just to experience this paradise. You’ll be surprised with the many things that are undiscovered and amazingly beautiful. Philippines has always been one of the rich in its natural resources.

I've been to some tourist spots in Biliran like this paradise island called Sambawan Island. What our very own province have, really what makes me proud of. Preserving such rich spots helps out our tourism to grow. Those people who can’t afford having vacation to places as luxurious as boracay and Palawan will have their chance taking their family to much less expenses. You  may have traveled rough roads but it paid off.
